By the Pricking of my Thumbs...

I can't believe it's already over! Another year, another freakishly fab party, and this time it was hosted by our new friends Ande and Joe Nehila...or should I say Medusa and her man-toy turned to stone?

We actually thought we wouldn't be able to pull off a party this year because a) we don't have that many friends yet and b) our apartment is teeny! I was whining to Ande on a run a couple of months ago about how sad this made me when she nonchalantly answered, "Duh, just have it at our house!" The rest, as they say, is history.

The Nehila's steps are notoriously dark and creepy (and kind of dangerous) already, so all they needed were a few little lights and an amaaaazing pumpkin (carved by Ande!) to lead the way...

I have to post a few decor pics because Ande is very crafty and made many of these things herself!

I think we probably spent at least 3 hours putting up webs!

Unfortunately I forgot (as usual) to get pictures of the food while it was still in it's pristine, beautiful condition...oops. Trust me that it looked much more delectable than it does here! Props to Emily for the exquisitely decorated, hand-dipped, scrumptious cake pops/balls...seriously, they were awesome, but everything else was pretty darn delicious too. Thanks to everyone who brought treats and food!

carrot-cake pop! mmmmm...
quite an assortment of soups! thanks to Neil for modeling.

And on to the best part! We had sooo many great costumes this year, and so many new people that I had never even met before, and some people that I probably won't recognize next time I see them...

Boxer and Farmer - my friend Emily from high school who lives in Seattle now!
Ballerina and Prisoner - too bad they left their cute sheriff puppy at home!
Vampire and his lovely victim
Awesome.
Zack and Kelly!
Identity Crisis and his "blind date" - she had props not visible here!
Gnomes!!
Chewy and his Flapper Girl
Hill Billy and "Hill Billy's Ventriloquist! haha.
The Goths
Death and Shirley Temple...an interesting combination.

For all you Harry Potter fans out there...
Gandalf and his Cat (I didn't know he had one either!)
Another shot of Medusa and Stone Joe
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir stopped by for a bit...amaaazing!
And last but certainly not least...

Han Solo and Princess Leia!!
star wars heaven!
Joe was the disturbingly creative narrator of "Werewolf" (similar to maffia). Many, many villagers were lynched or disemboweled before all the werewolves were eradicated. Congrats to those who survived in the end! I know Han Solo was amongst them, I'm so proud!

passing out character cards
night in the village...sooo scary!!
Ande was the first victim, but she didn't go down without a few choice words!

And some more fun shots from the rest of the night...

And the winners of this year's Glitter Skull Trophy???

THE GNOMES!!!!!!!

Well deserved...

Allison promised to display it year round - I'll be stopping by periodically to check!

Well, I'm sad it's over, but there's always next year! Until then, I'm pretty sure Ande's face still looks like this, so I'd better go over and help her clean up ;)

Wishing all of you could have been there!!

oh, ps - I'm always looking for new game/activity ideas, so if you played any fun ones this year, let me know in the comments!
