I was thinking earlier this morning about how many amazing birthdays I've had, I'm one lucky girl. Last year was the year I almost died on my birthday because of a crazy-awesome thunderstorm, and had great Thai food with Brent and Teri.
The year before that I was here:
There is nothing better than a good snorkel on your birthday! Trust me. That was the most gorgeous day and we had so much fun exploring Aruba on the Arubus.
I had b-days 2006 aaand 2007 on Antelope island, in the middle of the Great Salt Lake because it was the closest beach to Provo! The first time it was just Brent and I, but the next year we brought friends. It makes me sad that I only have one (crappy/pixely) picture of us with our friends there, and it doesn't even have everyone in it, but I guess it's better than nothing!
Hahaha....Brent couldn't believe his hair when I showed him this picture!! He was like, "Why did you like me? And why did you let me do my hair like that??" haha. Ahhh...those were the days. I can't believe this was 5 years ago!
I've spent other birthdays in New Zealand, here:
Christchurch Cathedral (which has since been destroyed by a huge earthquake, sad!) |
and Transylvania, here:
That's Vlad the Impaler's castle (ie: Dracula) |
Crazy huh?? It just so happens that my birthday frequently falls on "spring break" which is when we always went on choir tour in high school. The first year we went to New Zealand and Australia, and the second year we went to Romania (among other places).
So like I said, I have had some AWESOME birthdays, and I don't expect anything less out of this one! Brent is in the kitchen right now preparing cheese and chocolate fondue, pretty much my two favorite foods of all time. Yay!!
Oh, and since I haven't made a "blog-official" announcement yet - we're going to Seattle for residency! I'll do another post about that soon, but basically, we'll be leaving NC a couple of days after graduation to go to HI with my fam, then Brent will start June 24th. We'll be in Seattle for at least 3 years, maybe more if we want to do a fellowship there! We'll keep you posted...
