Ladies, time to kiss Chase goodbye because tomorrow he heads to the MTC in Provo to start his mission! The visa situation with Brazil is apparently a total nightmare for missionaries, who wait until the last minute to find out whether they will get to go straight to the Brazil MTC or, if their visa doesn't come through in time, go to the one in Provo to wait it out. Chase will be waiting in Provo, but that means he gets to see Alex one last time before he heads in, so I don't think he minds too much.
We had a fantastic going-away party for him, and I have pictures to prove it (you may have already seen them on facebook - lucky you! you get to see them twice).
love this - of Candice AND Maddie! haha |
In case you don't know him, that's Chase holding the ball |
even Dad braved the slide! |
maybe it's just me, but I laugh EVERY time I see this picture - she's just so serious! |
the boys playing a rather violent game of ping pong... |
Chase again - also looking quite serious on the Entrepislide |
As usual, the giant slide was a huge hit! We only had one minor (I think?) injury - how's your back Christian? Though someone did fracture an ankle on it a couple of days later...anyway, it was a great time and we were so happy to have everyone there supporting Chasey-poo.
Words can't express how proud I am of both my little broskies for making the commitment to serve for two years - it blows my mind! I know Chase will be fantastic, I mean, he pretty much speaks Portuguese already (no joke).
Eu te amo Chase!
ps - there was a show-stopping water ballet performance during the party, choreographed by none other than Kathy Pickett, that I would love to post for your viewing entertainment, but Alex never sent it to me and now there is nobody left at home who is technologically gifted enough to send the vid to me :(
pps - ok, my Dad could probably figure it out, but since he is almost never "at home" he doesn't count.
So exciting that he's going on his mission! We missed his farewell because we didn't know about it. :( We found out about it on our way home from Tahoe when we were going to stop by Ian and Kitty's house--only to find out they were at your house. Bummer!
