A Saturday in January

Now this is how Saturdays in January should be spent!



In swimsuits!!

Brent and I spent four whole weeks in California over Christmas because he got extra time off to do interviews, and it was soooo fun (mostly). He has all six of his interviews done now: Wake Forest, Georgetown (DC), OHSU (Portland, OR), U of Washington (Seattle), Denver, and U of Utah! He did the four on the west coast all in a row, jumping from city to city over about 9 days, quite the interview marathon. Lauren and I flew out to meet him in Denver and hang out with my Aunt Melissa and her fam though, which was a blast.

We were both going to come back last Monday, but my mom needed a babysitter while they went to Utah, so I stayed to make Maddie study for her finals and do her endangered animal project (Harry Otter!). There was a lot of homework and studying over those four days, but we also got to go to the beach!!



See? It was fun. Almost 70 degrees, sunny, and perfectly breezy for kites!



Lauren's friend Claire came with us and tried to teach Maddie and Lauren how to fly them.












Does it get any better than this?

And there you have it. A perfect Saturday, and even more perfect in the coldest month of the year! I miss them already, but it's good to be back in NC with the friends I've missed here too. I'm lucky I get to have my cake and eat it too ;)
